Who we are
We are a small family run business in Winnipeg, Canada.
Our website address is: https://onespoiledkitty.ca
What personal data we collect and why we collect it
As a matter of policy, if we don’t demonstrably need it for proper website functioning and order processing, we don’t collect it.
Some data, such as email addresses and order history, are collected as a side effect of the order process. This is standard record keeping. We may use it for promotional emails. At no time is that data sent to any third party.
We will never sell, share, or give away your data in any form as we believe it is unethical for us to do so.
Information you input is used only for the stated purpose. We do not save this data for anything other than that. We do not sell or share this data.
We retain your email address when you make a purchase for notification purposes.
We may occasionally send promotional emails which you can opt out of.
Your email address is never shared with third parties.
Although almost all of our email is handled through Google’s Gmail, we do have non-gmail accounts. Some businesses and ISPs block email coming from gmail as spam or ‘not work related’ despite being in use by very many small businesses (a nonsensical block, but whatever). Occasionally we will check to see if an email is bounced (it bounces to a true onespoiledkitty.ca email account). We will then resend the email from an actual onespoiledkitty.ca email address. This only if it is related to an outstanding order.
If you have trust issues with gmail, you can still contact us via firstname.lastname@example.org. As we rarely check it, you should send us a message using the onespoiledkitty.ca contact form, facebook, or gmail to let us know to check for your ‘real’ email.
Cookies are used for two purposes:
- Keeping your shopping cart loaded so you can wander about the site without losing anything.
- Session maintenance. This may include holding some personal information through the checkout process.
Cookie data is saved by your browser only. It will be used the next time you visit the site. If you want the cookie data gone, every browser provides a way to delete the cookies.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
We analyze zero personal data.
Some Google code is part of our website, allowing Google to collect data on your use of the site. They (presumably) use this to put One Spoiled Kitty ads in front of people who may be interested in our products. That is not a bad thing. It does mean analytics are happening, but we have no control or access to Google’s results on an individual level.
Who we share your data with
How long we retain your data
If you purchase products, you will supply things like your name and address for delivery. This is retained for future purchases, and to provide an ability to notify you via email of order status. This data is retained indefinitely as it will be used to reload the delivery information and lives on in emails.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, you can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where we send your data
Your data is only held in our web system. The server used is in Montreal, Canada. Backups may be stored in Winnipeg at our location.
Purchase data also goes through our Point of Sale (POS) system which is cloud hosted in the US. The data is limited to what you would get on a store paper receipt. It includes your name, the list of items your purchased, and prices. The POS hosting company does not use this data.
No data is sent to third parties excepted as necessitated by the purchasing process (credit card processing).
Email regarding your orders is sent by the webserver to us via a Google Gmail account. We use this for product picking and creating shipping labels. Because it goes through Google email servers, it is subject to things that Google does.
